Right after church today Gabe pulled out the bubble machines, it was a bubble party. The carpet was a little wet when we were done.

8 Months Gone By

Its now time for me to accept that shooting him (its a term we photographers use. I know it sounds really bad) will be an absolute pain in the rear.
We all just love this little man. He is an absolute joy to have in the family.

Wear your GREEN

It was a good day just like any other.

Elyse came home from school a little sad. She wanted school lunch because they had green Jello-O and green potatoes. So, that's what we had for dinner. The Jell-O was a hit...but we are from the Jell-O state and of course its going to be a hit and as for the potatoes let's just say Greg and I are still eating them.

I know I have a photo for everything. Its because of my 365 challenge...a photo a day.

New Life

A tsunami wave crashes over a street in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, in northeastern Japan on March 11.Published March 15, 2011

My thoughts have been with Japan lately. I wake up thinking about them and go to sleep with them on my mind. I've watched a video that shows the massive destruction hit by Tsunami and all I can think of is what would I do. I don't know. I would hope that my brain wouldn't panic and that I would think straight. Most of thoughts go to. I don't have enough arms for all my kids to keep them close to me.
I truly hope that they can find some peace amidst all the pain that they have suffered lately and still are for a quit some time.

Which brings me to this photo with all that have died in the tragedy new life begins.

Please Stop

GROWING!

The topic of Junior High has been talked about a lot lately. Registration has begun, some of the classes he picked are...Hip Hop, Art, and Spanish with a little hesitation. I asked "Why?" He then asked me a question "Will I get a lot of homework taking a Spanish class?" I then laughed and realized his selection of classes were to get as little homework out of them as possible. While in his efforts of not having so much homework I made him take an accelerated math test to get him in a higher math class...we'll see. He said the test was pretty easy.

Another funny thing about this junior high process:
While driving to the school for the test he asked, "Who should my locker buddy be?"
I said "Choose a friend."
He couldn't really come up with on. And later I found out why. All the boys he knows are messy pigs and he doesn't want to share with someone who is messy :)

Boys are Like Cavemen

Really its just how they eat. We are constantly reminding him to use a spoon or maybe even a fork.

Scenes from Mom's house

Then we ate yummy yummy Mexican food to fill our tummies. The kids ran around the yard, did a little fingernail painting and talked.

Even Gabe and Isaac joined in. You know how boys get into this I can wear pink shoes pants and paint my nails. I'm that okay with myself. Or when it comes to Halloween they dress up like a girls.

Its all in the Communication & Listening

I get a phone call from an old neighbor wanting to talk to me about a conversation she had with Gabe before he talks to me. So, I could hear both sides. They were actually quit similar
She started out by telling me that she was pretty frustrated with him and all the other boys in the neighborhood. They were not including her boys and she was fed up with them not accepting them. She and all the boys were having an all out yelling match and all started walking away. Gabe then turns around to go and talk with her. They end up talking for about an hour and a half about all the issues. What I simply loved about all was that in all her frustration and protection she had for her children to be acceptance she was willing to listen to what Gabe's point of view were. She said it was one of the best conversations she has had with an 11 year (and kept telling me how impressed she was by his age and willingness to communicate and make it all work out). She now has a greater understanding has to why her older children don't have friends in the neighborhood and how she created it. Gabe said that he and his friends will play with her boys now that he understands too.

He's Ready for Kindergarten

Eeeek! I have another who is going to leave me home. While it makes me sad they are super excited to grow up and be BIG!
In preparation for getting ready he had his shots done today in his little arms. He actually did very well but the last one hurt. Which was the shot caused him arm to swell. I was actually worried I had all kinds of thought going on in my head. But just had to give it a few days and all was well.
