This week was full

of Birthday parties, the carnival and father's and son's...hence the reason I posted Gabe's birthday so late.

Last night was Father's and son's and they loved. Greg was tired and the kids worn out. As I packed to help them get ready I gently placed the camera next to everything. To my happiness Greg took it with him...but to my unhappiness not a photo was taken. I mean seriously how ya gonna remember the moment(s).
Gabe moment: Gabe had a brave moment while riding on the zip line. He dared Grant to let go and fall into the water and in return Gabe would do the same. Well Grant did it and now Gabe was to keep his word (Gabe's words not mine) so then he did the same. He said it was freezy cold water.

Isaac moment: Greg was woken up, at 6 in the morning, by little Isaac getting ready to go outside to play with his buddy Tallon. Greg was able to convince Isaac to stay in the tent for another 30 minutes before he really wanted to leave...Seriously this kid loves to do things on his own. We catch him wondering the the neighborhood going to Tallon's house.
The night before Greg said that Isaac had a head lamp on and just wondered around the campsite and any time he could look up and find the red light (for spiderman).

That's the best I can tell you for Father's and son's but as for the girls. We went swimming and to the carinval.
It all started on thurdsay Elyse was praying asking for it to be sunny on Friday so that we could go swimming. Well, the clouds were gone and the sun was out to play the whole day. How could I not go swimming.
We brought friends and food and had slushies and played until our feet got wrinkley and some of the skin off of the toes. We headed home to eat dinner and ready for more play...at the carnival. At this point I had heard that "This is the best day ever" says Elly. "I'm going to pray that the sun will come out on Monday too."

Okay so I took one photo of the day.

Gabe is 10

10 words to describe Gabe

Negotiator...of all things!

Inventor...of many things at night. I look forward to his new ideas every morning.

Creator...of all the swings in the backyard that entertain the neighborhood.

Kind...to those around him.

Generous...with all that he has.

Happy...to do what is right!

Heart....meaning BIG heart.

Laughter...he loves to laugh at the stuff dad did as a child.

Inspires...others to think outside of the box and be creative.

Learner...of everything.

Gabe's birthday planning was in the works for a few weeks but it took me some time to actually set it in stone. He started out with a movie night and then it changed to a BBQ at grandma's house with the bounce house and fun activities...but it rained on us. His plan was to have his party the day before his birthday...so he could get his present early.
I love to watch you grow and turn into a young man...but I wish it could slow down. I still get 8 more years with you and I will enjoy every moment...good and bad.

LOVE YOU!!!!

I love Dillan's reaction to the present.

...and Gabe wont pose for me anymore

My Elly conversation today

She came in the house and asked for Jesus' phone number.

I said, "Why, do you need is number?"

Elly "because I want him to tell Bryn to let me ride her bike"

Mom "you can actually talk to him thru prayer"

after that the conversation was done.

The School Year Comes to a Close

I was asked to write something about Elyse. I just have to say it brings me to tears seeing them grow up and move on to the next grade. She is going to be in first grade and Bryn in 3rd then Gabe into 5th grade. Man...this will be tough when Isaac goes to kindergarten.

I remeber back in the day when I use to be so bored...wishing I had more to do. Now I lay in bed at night wanting those slow days back. Well, I can't so I've gotta live in the now and soak it up.
So, everyday I take time to just watch the kids laugh and play or I get up and jump with them. I am excited for summer. I can't wait to spend more time with them.

Soccer

Soccer is almost over. They all love it and can't wait for their games. It makes for a busy saturday morning when all 3 are playing.
Gabe is now starting his tournament games. Their team is ranked 2nd but we will see after the tournament starts.
Bryn is a very good defender she also loves to go up front but she is naturally good at defense (this is where she takes after me).
Elly's team won yesterday and she even had a few fancy moves of her own.

Bug Eyes

We will take all the help we can get when comes to fixing up the house. This here is bug eyes.

This here can be a problem at times...he will usually loose the screws we need.
Isaac knows all the names of the tools and he insists on using his own set too. I'm surprised they are not lost yet.

Dinky Babies

Here is another project of Bryn's that she has completed in sewing. She loves it. I wouldn't say that's how she felt in the beginning but now she can't wait to go to class.

Webs

A question from none other than our creative thinker...Elyse.

"Dad, Why do have spider webs in your nose?" reffering to his nose hair.

We have a pantry

This makes me happy.

Here it is

Update:

Draper Temple visit.
Things to remember. Be Reverent. Don't run. Have fun!

Well, quite actually that all happened...but there was a little bit of running. But in all I was pleasantly surprised.

This is Bryn doing her first report on Giraffe's. She typed it up all by herself.

Isaac LOVES to help out any time he can even when it comes to dishes.

It doesn't take much for me to cry anymore. Gabe has a peer in his class and at church that has recently had some serious medical issues rise up lately. It happened monday during the day she had an episode that Gabe thought she was pretending to faint. Later she was taken to the hospital and then rushed up to primary childrens. They found out her cancer had come back I don't know all the hospital mumbo jumbo but its not good. The family looks forward to Chemo or surgery. She is a brave soul and has thanked her Heavenly Father for smart doctor's that saved her so that she could still be here with her family.

I'm inspired!

Grandma Great

In the time of my grandfather's passing we spent many days with him and Grandma great. The kids really love the visits as well as the grandparents.

We (what I mean by we...Greg) have decided to work on family history for some reason it is very close to me now. I really miss my grandpa. I hope that my children create great relationships with their grandparents as I have with mine.

Some photos of course.

Greg's cooking

Even if it's not done the way I want. Now, the frustrating part for was that I am told that I don't communicate very well. So, when I am working it, it still does me no good. Greg asked how can i help get ready for dinner. I told him that we needed to make the dessert so he started on it but put it in the wrong pans. We have a big family and it needed to go in a sheet cake to make sure there was plenty to go around (which by the way was all eaten up).
Well Greg figured out how to make it work. I wasn't mad about the help by any means I will take it anytime it was my lack of good communication skills.
O'well it makes me smile when I think about it....Greg is very good at making me smile or laugh at the wrong times or times that I just want to be mad.

Isaac's Birthday

A month and a day later.

He was so fun to watch opening presents and playing with his friends. He had a smile on his face all day. He is so fun to give a gift too, his reaction makes it all worth it. The simple pleasures of a child. I enjoy every bit of it.

Good Guy Today

I can find this little one in his underwear all the time. It's so tough for him to keep his clothes on.
This morning he found a sword and was getting the bad guys.

How could I not take pictures to document this imagination. Oh, how I felt safe today.
