Gabe's Game Today

I decided to take some shots today at the game but missed the coolest play by Gabe. I keep regretting that I missed it but on the positive side I'm glad that I saw it with 2 eyes instead of thru my lens. He was on a breakaway with 3 other boys on him and while he was running his hardest was beating them and had possession of the ball and was ready to shoot when on of them tripped him and he fell, should have been a red card. We are so proud of how he played tonight...with all his heart. I think our Gabe is coming back. It was his best game even though we lost but he came out of it a winner by how hard he played. He was so happy!!!

A little something from Gabe

Today I talked with Gabe about money and our circumstances and he then asked, "How are you happy?" I smiled and said "Its not everyday that I am but I try."
I've read an article in the ensign its says "be of good cheer" Christ said it all the time to Paul.
Its a phrase that runs thru my mind all the time.

Celtics vs Firebirds

Its a 2-0 win for us. Wish I could have been there. Bryn had 2 shots and an assist, this is all from the defense.

A little Elly Quote

Quote for Elly "Mom, why don't you save your money and buy some medicine?" I laughed so hard. The simplicity of a child. Its all a matter of just saving your money.

For Those

....For the husband who told his wife, "I love you" one last time before his plane went down in a field, for the wife who stopped in the stairs to call her husband to say, "I will love you forever", for the mothers and fathers who kissed their kids goodbye the morning they died, for the policemen who rushed in with the firemen to help get others out only to die themselves, for the soldiers who fought back and lost their lives. Today, tomorrow, ten years from now, we will remember.
I remember vividly that day. Greg called me and woke me up, yes I was still sleeping had a 2 and 1 year old at the time, he told me to go turn on the t.v. I did. I was in shock. I couldn't believe what I saw. I was thinking about everyone actually going thru this tragedy and how scared they where.  I was scared for them and sad for the families.
The t.v. was on all day watching as it all unfolded. The scene at the twin towers when they fell, and smoke that followed so much destruction that day meanwhile the heaven's where flooded. Its been 10 years and I still remember.

Gratitude

Today I wondered how am I going to get diapers.
I thought to look inside Beckam's closet and check in the box and WALA...diapers.
Its time for me to find the small miracles.

Labor Day

Holidays come and go and to be honest with you I don't think about them and how they or what they are meant for except for, and there are a few, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays & Our Anniversary.
Labor Day
The purpose of
is to honor the social and economic achievements of American workers.

Labor Day
is a federal U.S. holiday falling on the first Monday in September. It is a day off for most workers and popular activities include picnics, barbecues, and fireworks. Labor Day was
Monday, September 05, 2011
in the United States
this year.

Well we celebrated with a BBQ, just like it says to, but little did I think about why...shame on me. I should do better!
We thought to give the pool one last swim, the BIG pool, but it was too cold. So, we pulled out the warm water and filled the little one.

And had to steal a cute photo of this little one.

Just building Grandpa's hut for all of his garden stuff.

Haven't had time to think about it.

Everyone has made it off to school.
Today was Isaac's first day of Kindergarten. I will so miss him. Life has been crazy busy that I haven't had time to even think about my almost baby going off to kindergarten. I watched him go off to class thinking of how excited he is to be big. I do love watching them grow up however, I tend to shed a tear but it didn't happen this time. I kinda felt numb. I'm sure its with everything going on.

Gabe is off to Junior High...and he loves it. It was a little scary at first....figuring out lockers, who to share with, where all the classrooms are and which lunch he has...the works. He went to school with some unknowns but we assured him he will figure it out and everything will be okay.
But it was a little tough for him to "not know" all the details! In the end it all worked out.
He even color coded everything...love it.
There is one thing that was tough for me was, he ate lunch alone for a couple days. Ya, I worry about stuff like that. I kinda want my kids to fit in.

As for Elyse and Bryn they are super cute taking care of each other at school and walking together and now Isaac is at school...they love to pick him up.

14 years and counting.

What a happy day. I have so many emotions running thru my brain right now because we have been thru so much that I really am blessed to have a wonderful husband to share eternity together. As my facebook status says:
Today, I have been married to my best friend for 14 years. My life has been truly blessed to have you in it. And I couldn't have asked for a better father to our 5 crazy wonderful children! Happy Anniversary Greg Bishop! I love you! You are my favorite husband. I'm so excited to be with forever.
then my sweet honey says:

I definitely got the good end of the marriage deal. I'm in love with you even more than the beginning of the experience.

We spent the night out to dinner...outback steakhouse soooooo yummy. It was a perfect night!

Elyse gets Baptized and much more

This little one is so fun to watch when she has something big in her life. The week before she had little lessons to pick out daily in preparation for her Baptism. And she also memorized the 4th Article of Faith (because Bishop asked her to). I love her willingness to do what is right even when she wants to wear clothes that are not modest. I don't know what it is but Bryn and Elyse have this fascination with skimpy clothes.
We are so proud of you Elyse for making this big decision in your life. We know that it will bring you happiness and joy.

Elyse invited Grandpa 2...she loved that.

And my mom couldn't make it...she was sad, she just had surgery on her neck and wasn't feeling well.

The Chinese students also went home today. We will miss them and will remember the fun experience of having them stay with us but Gabe is ready to have his room back.

We also had my Lewis Family Reunion at Rock Canyon Park. It was fun!

Bryn was super sick. I've never seen her so still.

A Sleeping Baby

When this little guy was first born he was a horrible sleeper. I was a walking zombie for 6 months. I had a few nights that Greg would give me a break (I can hear everything) he had to get creative to find a way for me to not hear this little guy. And now he sleeps 14 hour night sometimes longer.
Once I took this shot he woke right up.
He is one light sleeper.
I also love the old look of this photo.

Beckam is 1

Its always said that time flies and it does. This baby is 1. He is so loved so hugged and so happy. He brightens the mood of everyone in this home. The kids ask me to make him laugh all the time just because he makes us smile and we love to hear his laugh.
He loved eating his cake, their was no holding back, he stuck those fingers and even his face right into it.

Welcome Amy and Emme

This is Emily and Emme these are their American names. Emily is Xiong Fangping and Emme is Yang Xuedan. They are super shy but I would be to if I was 12 and in a new country learning English. I know they'll be warming up to us and our crazy household. So far, I know they LOVE french fries.

So my role as a host is to have them hang out with us and do all of our activities that we do together. While they are here they go to school during the day for their 3 week stay. I don't feel the need to do a ton of stuff because while they are at school they do a lot of sight seeing...that makes it so I can be lazy and stay home but thats pretty much what they wanted to do anyways. We made pizza one night...that was fun. They also made us a meal one night.

We did go to the splash pad in Highland... loved it. We also went shopping. And had our family reunion. That was about all the we did. We enjoyed the experience of getting to know them, I think they did as well.

Some things we learned:
they LOVE American food mostly hot dogs, pizza, french fries, candy, ice cream and fruit.
Emme mom was a stay at home mom...that's actually very rare.
Amy is a princess and Emme is a helper
Emme loved a lot of our activities she enjoyed trying new thing and Amy was a little more reserved.
They eat with their mouths open...that was a hard one for Gabe. He didn't eat with us much at dinner time.
They love name brands.
They didn't talk much with their parents. I think they called them once or twice in the 3 weeks they were here.
Emme spent most of her money on gifts for people at home and Amy spent most of it on her.

Bishop Family Reunion

Good times.
We had a lot planned around town.
*seven peaks
*rock climbing
*late night movie
*swimming
*a trip to the zoo

Most of the events I had left my camera behind but have a few shots to remember it by.

We are starting of the family reunion with some rock climbing.

This would be my "special" brother-in-law

And forgot the camera. Had tons of fun and burned myself. I lathered myself 3 times and still burned. I didn't put any on my legs and they burned in only 20 minutes.

Went to the Zoo without my camera....lame sauce I know. I had some good photo ops too....UGH! Yeah, I have been a little sidetracked and I keep forgetting my camera. Family Reunion stuff going on and I am missing all the photo ops because I am so worried about getting to where we need to be.

Daddy time!

Little Beckam loves to be thrown in the air.

I just love how happy he his to be with his daddy.

Quiet time

I'm sitting here thinking of what to do with myself. Its quiet...its exactly what I wanted but -is it. I could read scriptures, play some angry birds, better yet, take a nap. That's it I've decided to get my sleep on. I'll be back to make more posts. Sunday is usually the day I play catch up with the week events.

Ely's Birthday Partay

Party time at Classic Skating. Oh, how this brings up those childhood memories. Love the days when I was a pro roller skater. I seriously had some moves...ask me to do them now and may fall flat on my face. Good times!
I bought these discount tickets to have a huge friend party with Gabe, Bryn, Elyse and Isaac but it didn't work out the way I wanted so, I split up the ticket purchase and had Elye's party here and then Bryn will be next.
