Greg asked, "what I would like to have done from the honeydo list?" music to my ears.
So, he made a run to Home Depot to get the supplies and while on that run I found the basement flooding...SUPER amounts of fun.
Yep, we got to clean the basement today from a flood of water from the bathroom. Can I say annoying. Well, there went the actual finishing of the project from the honeydo list instead it was added too.
But around 9:00 p.m. I hear the the saw and Greg working...he is checking of that honeydo list. Man he is the BEST!

Crazy Christmas Eve
It may not seem so crazy but for me it was...what do I do to entertain the kids they are dying to have Christmas NOW since they woke up this morning. I don't have a lot of motivation to go do anything but I wanted something to do...you know how that goes. So, we opted for a lot of movie's one of them was at the theater...to get out of the house...then we came home and made Santa some goodies to eat (no cookies this time it was some yummy Chex Mix) After the goodies we made we warmed up some appetizers and headed downstairs for then next round of movies Miracle on 34th Street then Night at the Museum but before that started the kids were begging to go to bed and I said "NO"
If you remember last year they went to bed around 9 or so but then woke up around 2 in the morning...then Greg (being a night owl) thought it was party time so he turns on a movie. Yep, that kinda makes me a cranky person. You know, I think about it sometimes...Jess, just live in the moment have fun but when it interferes with my sleep I really can't live in the moment.
Santa already visited with some gifts. I think it was about 9 and the doorbell rang the kids ran upstairs to open the door and Ely jumps back a little with surprise wondering is this real and in comes Santa and Ben the Elf caring bags. It was so fun to see the smiles on there faces wondering what this was all about. They looked inside each of their bags and saw that it was real presents. NOW they really can't wait til Christmas...oh, how fun it is to see their sweet excitement and wonder what Christmas will bring. I love that JOY it brings me back to my childhood....trying to go so to sleep and lying there for what seemed FOREVER and then finally off to dream about those sugarplums.
***update it is 11:11 and Isaac is now awake after falling asleep around 8 (he missed the first Santa experience) so it looks like he will be up til 2 and the girls are still awake in there beds.

Temple Square
Greg booked his day with meetings...can you believe that on his birthday. Bad Dad that deserves a slap on the hand. It took some prodding...if you love me you will change your meetings and go to temple square with us. So he did. It all worked out and I'm glad we did, though it was a busy night for temple square it didn't feel like a Sunday.
It's always good to reflect on our Savior at this time a of year when the hype of Santa is all around. The manger scene is one that always brings tears to my eyes for Mary went thru a lot and if it were me I may have murmured a bit (just a bit) but it seems she was at peace with it all knowing the joy that would come into her life to have savior born.
Greg, that hat is really HOT on you.
Happy Birthday
Today Greg/Dad celebrates 35 years of life.
I stayed home from church to fight off a migraine and it's finally gone and now I have some time to make a post about my wonderful husband before he gets home from church. Words cannot describe how much I love this man, at least my words, Greg is always asking me if I want him to proof my posts...um, no that's just me. I also have a hard time expressing all that love mushey stuff too.
This man, my husband I will be with forever, has amazing confidence and resilience for life it is inspiring. He has been my rock and a great mentor for me and many others. I have grown so much as a person because of him. I love his thirst for knowledge, only when it makes him change not me, he is my personal directory when I get lost I call him if I need a number. He makes me laugh at the wrong times...when it needs to be quite he will make a whity remark...then it's not so quiet and people are staring at me.
I read a quote the other day that I need to have made on a shirt for Greg "I am allergic to stupid people"
-He is my Bob the Builder
-He is perfect with the children. He plays with them gives them confidence to help them succeed in life and most imprtantly he loves them and they know it.
-He is a priesthood holder I didn't have that growing up...let's say it means a lot to me to have such a strong worthy man providing and guiding our family. Especially as of late with our experiences we are going thru now I am greatful you are so postive and know that we will be blessed...because of you I will hold strong and support you and know to that we will be okay. As long as we have each other...right! This is our new quote for making it thru this challenge of not making enough money to provide what we used before.

O, Christmas Tree
This is how we spent our Black Friday...cutting down the Tree...no shopping for us.
The whole family went on the trip this time (Me, Dad, Grumpa, Steve, Gabe, Bryn, Ely, and Isaac). SUPER fun! It wasn't very cold and the snow...well, there wasn't very much of it this year which is a plus when your dragging a few trees over 16 ft. tall. This year ours reached over 20ft just shy of the ceiling.
My dear Greg, I know this takes a lot of work and time but I soooooooo love to have such a beautiful tree.
Steve's tree
We (me and the kids) stayed back to do some sledding. Elyse and Isaac lasted about 10 minutes. Gabe and Bryn lasted until the trees were being brought back.
While getting ready to leave Isaac had played with his gloves...I didn't notice unfortunately they got left behind at home. The only gloves that we had were Dad's old snowboarding gloves and he wanted nothing to do with them. These shots make me smile!
...and my HOT Man!

Festivities
I can't let a month pass before I post again. So, the best thing I can do is go thru the photos and see what we have done. I just can't remember anymore.
Let's start with whats fresh in my mind CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS, of which I look forward to all year. Deerfield's program is the same every year however, the song changes for the grade they are in. No pictures to show...because we all know what a program looks like however I had to get photos of Isaac's because he is hoot to watch....wiggling this way and that looking for somthing under is seat just in time for some singing and some actions then off to shooting people in the audience with his webs. The most attention was given to jingle bells because he got to ring bells the whole time. We laughed the whole time.
So something Isaac says every night when it's time for bed "Shhhhh, be quiet so that santa will come."
Visiting with Santa Isaac asks for "Wolverine costume and a wolverine guy"
Isaac said to me later. "Mom his beard didn't come off"
Santa, " I really am a good kid. I don't torture the cat or bug my brother and sisters I do what my mom asks and give her lots of hugs and kisses (he really does) so can I please get a Wolverine costume?"

It's called Go Prophet
The Christmas Lights are Up.
Yes, this year the lights made it up on the house just in time before the snow came. The best part was to figure out how to get them on the roof of the A-frame part of the house. The tallest ladder we could borrow was 35 foot ladder and Greg knew it wouldn't be enough and so, our solution was the roof of the Tahoe. I don't know what is better Scott's ladder job when he decorated the tree when he lived in the house or Greg's ladder job on roof of the Tahoe.
I was sitting on the Tahoe holding my feet against the bottom of the ladder praying that he wouldn't fall while at the same time thinking was this worth it. And I'm sure Greg was thinking
"breathe"
"you're not afraid of height's"
"this isn't so high after all"
"good thing I've got insurance"
After we were done with the highest peak I had to go inside and make some hot chocolate because my feet were so cold I could barely walk...I know I am baby when it comes to winter and this is why I don't do winter sports.
In this series of photos it makes it look like it took Greg 5 hours to move one foot. When actually the first shot was taken right before sunset and then the next like 5 minutes later.

Making the money!
Gabe would love to earn $50 an hour unfortunately I don't have the money to do that nor do I think it would be a good lesson for him. He really is a good hard worker mostly...when dad gives him the jobs but when I give him a job he doesn't like it so much. I don't know why, maybe his dad is paying him more than I am.
Here Gabe was given a job from dad...yep, he's excited to make some money and dad gave him the job. We had a bundle of sticks/dowels that needed to be cut and sanded for one of dad's project's and Gabe's job was to do the sanding. So, on Friday he came home from school ready to work...he even offered to many of his friends that they could earn some money too. That was kind of him but we are not running a sweat shop.

Alternative headphones
I'm a Pirate
10 inches and some
I have forgotten all about posting my new hair cut. I have been ready for a long time to have a new do. I felt there was no attachment to my long locks until I washed it the next day and thought what did I do...that's when the attachment started. The saying goes "we want what we can't have."
I didn't really take before and after pictures of the day but I have some with it long and short...now you can go ahead and think I vain (Julie and Nate) for taking pictures of myself but I really don't care what you think. I think it's good for us woman/mom's to get a photo taken once in awhile...because we'll always look back and go I did look good. I'm just sayin'

Lost for a Day
Kitty was lost for a day. She followed Bryn and Isaac to the bus stop and then we didn't see her until the next day. I'm sure she was fine but Bryn thought the worst possible things had happened to her...she thought we would never see her again but after a few prayers and tears she was found the next morning at the bus stop. She was a little hungry and ready to be spoiled.

Rubik's Cube
Gabe has yet done another trade with his friend Brandon (but pictured here is Brayden) and in this trade he came home with a Rubik's Cube...he was challenged to solve it. So, dad found a little "how to" from the internet and then taught Gabe. Happy, now that he can solve it. He shares his knowledge with his friends on "how to"but while he was teaching he took a bathroom brake and came back to it shattered all over the floor...needless to say he was devastated. He tried with all his might to get me to buy a new one...the cost $10...not a good time to shell out even $10 for some happiness.
But the time did come when I could shell out the mulla and that was for a bribe...some photos of Gabe. Yeah! We both were happy.
